I write fiction under the pen name Eema Stories, which I guess is really just a fancy way of saying that I spend a lot of time exploring magical realms inside my own head. If it looks like I am spacing out into the distance, don’t mind me, because I’m probably just interviewing a leaf about its life goals or coming up with a new clue for my detective horse to find. For as long as I can remember, I have been inventing memorable, quirky characters.

While my heart lives in middle-grade fiction, my fascination with story structure led me to become a Fictionary Certified StoryCoach Editor. Think of me as a story-whisperer of sorts. Eavesdropping on my imaginary characters has helped me see how a narrative should naturally move, helping me spot a wandering plot or a place to elevate the tension right where it needs to be to really sock it to my protagonist.
Inspired by nature and one of my personal favorite characters, a leaf named Little Bay, I founded Leaflet Writers. I believe every fabulous novel is like a great tree rooted in structure, where individual scenes are the leaves that bring the whole story to life. By evaluating manuscripts leaf by leaf, scene by scene, I help writers nurture a firm foundation and walk away with a clear, actionable revision plan. My goal is to ensure that a writer's story remains truly theirs, helping their characters and worlds branch out and grow into a book readers will want to read late into the night just to see what happens next.
